Ziva David rarely flinched away from her work, today she stood and approached the windows, standing to stare out of them, seeming distracted.
Her brown-black hair fell into brown eyes, her tan skin paler than usual, her outfit simple but neat. She watched Abby with a little concern, wondering what the girl was doing wandering around the lake outside.

Jeanne approched Ziva slowly, know that the other woman could break her in half easily. Jeanne's hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and her white pants were complimented by her pale blue top.
"Ziva," Jeanne spoke softly. "Are yo okay?"

Ziva half-turned, surprised by the voice from nearby. "Hm.. yeah." She lied, going back to watching Abby for a moment or two, then sighing. "No... actually, I'm not." She gave Abby a final glance and turned back to Jeanne. "We damn near lost a team member today..."

Jeanne nodded sadly. "I know. But none of us could have prodicted that." She smiled softy. "Anyway, we didn't. Kate is stronger than we give her credit for, you know that." She took a step closer to Ziva.

"Abby wouldn't be able to stand it." Ziva replied softly. "I can't help... I can't help thinking it was my fault." She murmured finally. "I've never had a proper family... you know that? Never had anyone care as much as you... or anyone on the team." She added a quieter. "I'd hate to screw it up now."

"You won't." Jeanne replied, softly but firmly. "I won't let you." She stepped closer to Ziva, looking her in the eye. "And it is not your fault. You can't think that."

"How can I not? I shouldn't have let her go in alone..." Ziva replied sadly. "None of us should but she was teamed up with me..." She spoke softly. "I feel so... useless."

Jeanne shook her head. "Kate would have gone in wether you let her or not. You couldn't have stoped her. None of us could." Jeanne rested a gentle hand on Ziva's back. "Please, don't beat your self up about it?"

"I can't stop thinking about it Jeanne..." Ziva sighed. "Guess I just need to move on." She spoke weakly. "Think the director would mind if I took a break? if we both did?"

Jeanne smiled softly. "I don't think so." She wrapped an arm around Ziva, supporting her, both emotionally and physically.

Ziva sighed and shifted closer, wrapping an arm tight around Jeanne's waist, gently kissing her cheek. "So... office or the elevator?"

Jeanne couldn't help but laugh, giving Ziva a smirk. "Are you serious?"

"If you want me to be..." Ziva teased. "We could always leave... head back home."

"And leave the rest of the team here to finish the case?" Jeanneshook her head. "With Kate and Abby gone, we're running out people." But Jeanne was still pulling Ziva towards the elevator.

Ziva smirked and let her pull. "Steady Jeanne..." She murmured. "Else they'll figure it out."
